blissful | altruistic | perceptive | nimble

Súice spent the first portion of her existence as an esk fairly re-lost; she does not remember her transformation nor her previous life, her transformer was nowhere to be found, and without anyone around to explain this new after-life and its ways to her, she was left to her intuition. Alone in a canyon in the desert, she had to feel her way around existence, developing an intense connection and sensitivity to all of the life forms within her boundary and relying on them as a guide and baseline. Though it didn’t quite feel like it at first, the oneness she now feels in her canyon and among its inhabitants is bliss. Her driving motivation is the keeping up the ecosystem of her boundary and looking after the wellbeing of its many inhabitants, which suffer from climate change and increasing human activity.

Courtesy of this bumpy start, she is quite skilled at reading body language, emotions, and sensing 'vibrations'. She loves the sounds of crickets, the warmth of morning sunlight, the smell of rain, climbing things, and helping the natural world. She has an intense innate fear of snakes that she doesn't understand, and she dislikes litter, cars, human laughter (but likes their singing!), and cold weather.

Though she tends to be a homebody and can be slightly anxious leaving her boundary without anyone to mind it, she enjoys adventures, exploring new places, and making friends. She is easy to get along with, and loves the company of others as well as learning new things about esk from them, or helping newcomers as best as she can (though there is still plenty she doesn’t know about eskhood - someday she’ll learn to master levitation….)

Box canyon - Joshua Tree National Park

Súice’s box canyon is in Joshua Tree National Park. Here she revels in climbing the billowing sandstone formations, shaggy joshua trees, helping the flora and fauna, and basking under the endless sky.
Her nature feature is a Dudleya cymosa, a succulent endemic to the south-western United States. Depending on her emotions, it grows wide open and blooms with beautiful yellow flowers, or sheds its outer leaves and drops its buds and flowers.

We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.”

Impressions

  • Súice emits a pleasant, steady vibration that is warm and welcoming.

  • She is quite small - about the size of a squirrel.

  • The sound of her crickets singing precedes her (you can hear their song here). They are very animated critters full of curiosity and playfulness. Often times the volume and speed of their chirps will reflect Súice’s emotions in a situation. She adores these little companions very much.

  • She is extremely sensitive to her boundary and its inhabitants; from the falling of a hawk’s feather to the thirst of a small sprout, she has a keen awareness of its minute occurrences.

  • Her elemental manifests as a misty fog which wafts around her, sometimes causing dew-drops to condense on her and things nearby. She uses this elemental both to replenish the living things in her boundary as well as to obscure them (or herself) from potential danger.

  • The Lunar Nightlight blessing allows the moon and stars to show extra bright while Súice is in the mountain biome to help her and anyone she is with find their way around.

  • Being small has its perks; little Súice is wonderfully nimble and stealthy, often moving silently throughout her boundary so not to disturb its inhabitants (and she’s very good at hiding, too). She loves hoping among the rocks and through the Joshua trees.

Origins & Stories

Transformations

Súice’s transformations are always done out of the greatest care; she is most likely to transform things in need or suffering rather than lost objects or things of curiosity. It fills her heart to be able to help the new esk out as much as she can post-transformation; showing them the ropes, making sure they are comfortable, off to a good start, and know they are cared about.
