humble | gentle | honest | shy | playful | determined
Gideon is a friendly, gentle, and playful - but terribly skittish - esk. He spends his days galloping across the prairies, chasing his familiar, daydreaming of being strong and confident, and, as one of Vetru's keepers, helping the plains to regrow. Despite his daydreams, he’s easily spooked and has very little confidence around others. When he’s nervous or shy he will bed down in the tall prairie grasses, camouflaging himself and hiding, sometimes for weeks on end. He will only leave his boundary when he’s in trustworthy company, or under pressing circumstances (such as being chased out by something scary, which could range from a hungry wolf to a chipmunk with the hiccups). What he lacks in bravery is made up for with kindness - fellow nervous and shy esk in particular find an easy friend and humble companion in him.
Loves: running, chasing Arlo, snowfall (and rolling in it), being in good company, helping plants grow, the sound of killdeer calls, minding chipmunks, admiring bison, Makoa, 000.
Dislikes: storms, tension, wildfires, going out of his comfort zone, Púca, predatory animals, loud noises, rain, and being teased.

Prairie - Badlands National Park, SD
The prairie that Gideon resides in is around Badlands National Park, South Dakota. Here you will find ample wildflowers, sweet smelling grasses, and wildlife from tiny field mice to the iconic American bison, all dramatically set against an open sky with rugged buttes in the distance (and dramatic weather, too).

Grasslands friends Mirrina, Rhys, and Gideon run joyfully through the plains.
Impressions
Gideon is roughly the same size as a bison calf (though quite a bit fluffier). The stripes on his body are a nod to his original, chipmunk form. He can run surprisingly fast in short bursts!
His vibration is a nervous, quivering thrum; like the anxious fluttering of a small creature’s heart, or the trill of a hummingbird’s call.
Wherever he is, the sweet smell of sun-soaked wild grass can be found.
His prairie falcon, nicknamed Arlo, embodies everything he aspires to be: bold, fearless, free, courageous. Arlo can be slightly defensive, protective, and rabble-rousing, but mostly minds his (and Gideon’s) own business.
The Foes Flee blessing causes all dangerous animals and ill-intending esk nearby to leave the area so that Gideon and company can safely traverse the biome without fear.
Gideon most often transforms creatures in need, though he may be not-too-difficultly egged on by others to perform transformations on objects and plants.

When Gideon’s Auric Horns are active, their paladin’s light fills him and his friends with courage and bravery. Origins & Stories
Transformations
Gideon’s transformations are most likely to be living things in need (particularly helping those trapped in the plains’ wildfires). He is not quite the strong creator he aspires to be yet - his timidness can make it difficult for him to be a confident teacher and mentor for new esk, but he does his best and cares about each one of his transformations.
